Vault combination change procedure

Sargent & Greenleaf

You must open the door and keep the door open to perform these operations

  1. Turn the dial to the left (counterclockwise) and stop when the first digit is aligned with guide mark of change to the left of guide mark of opening for the fourth time.
  2. Turn the dial to the right (clockwise) and stop when the second digit is aligned with the guide mark of change for the third time.
  3. Turn the dial to the left (counterclockwise) and stop when the third digit is aligned with the guide mark of change for the second time.
  4. At this time you insert the key into the small hole on the back of the lock and turn a quarter turn.
    1. You leave the key in place and you repeat steps 1-2-3 with the new combination.
    2. When step 3 is done, turn and remove the key.
    3. Then you do as if you had to open your safe as stated on page 1, Open the door 6 times and if everything is working normally then you can close the safe door and try again 3 times.

However, if an error occurs during combination change you must call a safe technician to perform the manoeuvre.


Lagard (Mecanics)

You must open the door and keep the door open to perform these operations

Always open the door to perform these operations.

  1. Enter zero (0) six (6) times.
  2. Enter the existing code of six (6) digits only once.
  3. Enter the new combination of six (6) digit 2 times
  4. If an error occurs wait thirty seconds and repeat steps 1-3
  5. Make several tests on the lock keeping the door open to ensure the proper functioning of the lock.

Entry of valid combination
Double signal after six (6) digit combination entry means that the entry is valid.
Invalid combination entry
Triple signal and the old code is still valid.

  1. Enter six (6) times the number 0.
  2. Enter your current combination of six (6) digits, only once.
  3. Enter your new combination of six (6) digits, two (2) times.
  4. If all this is correctly done, verify the new combination while the door is open.

If you made a mistake, please wait at least 30 seconds
then repeat steps 1 through 3.

Valid code : you will hear two beeps after the entered six (6) digits.
Invalid code : you will hear three beeps, and the old code is still valid.
